The Blackstone opened in 1916 and quickly became known as the finest hotel between Chicago and San Francisco. For more than a century, it drew some of the people who helped shape American life: Eleanor Roosevelt, Ginger Rogers, Bob Hope, Jack Benny. John and Jacqueline Kennedy marked their fifth wedding anniversary here. Guests came for the vibrancy of the place and stayed for its welcome, Midwestern hospitality at its very finest.
The Kimpton Cottonwood celebrates its salon heritage, inviting guests to gather, mingle, talk, and enjoy themselves in its historic Fontenelle Tea Room, a conservatory-style space where botanicals shape the experience. We pour by the pot and time each brew to bring out the best in the leaf, and serve it in famille rose porcelain, its eighteenth-century-inspired sprays of peony, chrysanthemum, and garden rose.
Gather friends over warm scones with clotted cream and berry preserves, tea sandwiches, and a small sweet from the kitchen. Sip slowly, taste with curiosity, and linger in one of Omaha's most beautiful rooms.

The Tea Is By Artemis
The tea is by Artemis Tea & Botanical, founded by Andrea Lawse, a Master Tea Blender and Clinical Herbalist. She authors every recipe and designed the Cottonwood's tea program; each blend is made by hand to her formula. Artemis is exacting about its ingredients, sourcing organic and biodynamic botanicals and fine teas from small farms and heritage estates, each chosen for taste and for the character of the plants. On the menu now: an organic long-leaf Ceylon with damask rose and Italian bergamot; a White Peony brightened by jasmine and garden rhubarb; and more that changes seasonally. If you find one you love, the Artemis shop is directly across the street, and the tea is yours to take home.
